BROOKE WEST

FOR COMMISSIONER - POSITION #1

PROTECTING WHAT MATTERS MOST

My story, why I'm running -

I'm a third-generation contractor, business owner, and lifelong Central Oregon resident who believes in hard work and accountability. I care about protecting our community, supporting local families, and preserving the natural beauty of this region. I'm running to bring practical, no-nonsense leadership to Deschutes County.

How I can help - Experience that connects the dots

I’ve built my career in construction and business here in Central Oregon, giving me a hands-on understanding of how growth and development impact real people. I've spent my life around the systems that shape this county - from building and development to property assessment and emergency response - giving me a well-rounded prespective on how decision affect our community from many angles.

I bring that real-world understanding to make decisions that are practical, effective, and grounded in how this community actually works.

What Commissioners actually DO?

+Sets and manages the Deschutes County budget.
+Oversees county departments (Sheriff, Public Safety, Health Services, Admin.)
+Makes land use and zoning decisions in unincorporated areas.
+Maintains and plans COUNTY roads and infrastructure.
+Guides responsible growth across the county; including agriculture and working lands.
+Advocate for local businesses at the county level.
+Represent rural communities and county wide interests.

What a County Commissioner DOES NOT DO -

-Control CITY zoning and development (Bend, Sisters, Redmond, La pine).-Manage city police departments.-Make decisions on city streets or traffic within city limits.-Oversee city UTILIES (water, power, sewer).-Create or enforce city-specific ordinances.

Good leadership starts with understanding the role - and focusing on what actually serves our county.

Thank you for your support!
